A little buzzy on tarmac as you'd expect, but still quite efficient - and really pretty impressive off-road, bit more plush on rough stuff than my old WTB Resolutes, and the slightly more aggressive tread gives you plenty of confidence when the going gets soft nd sloppy. Steve | UK | January 2020 650 * 47? Nowhere near! Bought these to replace a pair of WTB Resolute 650*42, hoping for similar tread pattern with a bit more volume. The tread is fine, maybe a little more aggressive than the WTBs, but still roll reasonably well on tarmac. But they're well short of 47mm width. The WTBs - nominally a 42 - come in at about 44mm on a 20mm ID rim. The Rutlands are barely a 0.5 mm wider, and maybe sit a sniff taller on the same rim. They're waaaaay short of WTB Byway 47s in terms of width & volume. A final plus - the sidewalls seem a bit tougher than the Resolutes, so may benefit from a wee bit more cush & puncture resistance?
