Love these tyres

I received the tyres next day from Bikemonger and was riding them after work.

Easy tyres to fit and seat meant both tyres were fitted in under 30 minutes and then out ridiing.

The Rutlands replaced my Resolutes and I was nervous about changing from a tyre that served me well. After my first ride of 30km, I sense the Rutlands are going to be more fun, faster together with. the assurance of more grip.

Pretty good all-rounders

Follow up to last review, now I've ridden a few miles on them, they are a pretty good all rounder for mixed on/off road riding. A little buzzy on tarmac as you'd expect, but still quite efficient - and really pretty impressive off-road, bit more plush on rough stuff than my old WTB Resolutes, and the slightly more aggressive tread gives you plenty of confidence when the going gets soft nd sloppy.

650 * 47? Nowhere near!

Bought these to replace a pair of WTB Resolute 650*42, hoping for similar tread pattern with a bit more volume. The tread is fine, maybe a little more aggressive than the WTBs, but still roll reasonably well on tarmac. But they're well short of 47mm width. The WTBs - nominally a 42 - come in at about 44mm on a 20mm ID rim. The Rutlands are barely a 0.5 mm wider, and maybe sit a sniff taller on the same rim. They're waaaaay short of WTB Byway 47s in terms of width & volume. A final plus - the sidewalls seem a bit tougher than the Resolutes, so may benefit from a wee bit more cush & puncture resistance?
