Stock Status: In Stock
Conversion kit for existing TRP Hylex brake owners. Kit includes all parts needed to convert your brakes to integrated shifters. New brake levers with single mount for 1X or two mounts for 2X options and shift lever(s) for your particular derailleur type. Currently available for Shimano Road, Shimano MTB, Shimano Alfin2 and SRAM MTB.

Just so we are all clear. this is the conversion kit, not the fully hydro brakes. You get new brake lever blades and shifty bits.

Make your Hylex Shift!

If you have TRP Hylex hydraulic brakes you are already half way there! TRP is a small company compared to the likes of Shimano and SRAM but they also specialize in braking unlike the big guys and it shows! TRP Hylex are just a better brake and that is why we are thrilled to be able to now offer a conversion kit.

Upgradeable
Running 10 speed now but might upgrade to 11 speed down the trail? No worries as this system is part of our CX shifting system the shift levers can be swapped to achive just that!

Handy Replacemt.

I believed the hype about Rohloff Hibs being good for touring, so purchased a bicycle with a Rohloff hub, which had TRP hylex brakes and "cinq" shifters. I couldn't get on with it. You have to stop pedalling to change gear which isn't good on a 4 pannier bag touring bike. Especially bombing down a hill to then start climbing as you lose all momentum and if you're still in the wrong gear you have to stop pedalling to change down again.... So got rid of the Rohloff and Gates belt drive on eBay and went back to derailleur, an expensive mistake.

I'm a big fan of Gevenalle friction shifters. I wrote a review on 2019. So went back to them. Simple to use, and great for touring for a long times as you don't have to worry about cable stretch so much as you just find the gears through feel. And can dump loads of gears in one go for when you have to drop down on a climb when your momentum eases off.

The levers are easy enough to swap out.

Just brilliant. I would recommend..Well I did 6 years ago. So I'm re reading my advice.
